The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library sits on a ridge above the city and is its best-known landmark. Rancho Simi Community Park, Corriganville Park on the old movie-ranch site, and the Santa Susana Pass State Historic Park provide open space, along with the Chumash Indian Museum. Wood Ranch Golf Club and Simi Hills Golf Course anchor two sides of the valley. The Simi Valley Metrolink station on the Ventura County Line carries commuters toward Burbank and downtown Los Angeles, which is the city's dominant commute direction.

Tract identity does most of the work here, and getting it wrong is the common error. The local market distinguishes between adjacent 1970s tracts in ways that square footage alone will not explain, so I match tract and builder before widening a search. Bridle Path requires equestrian-capable comparables, since the horse access is priced. Big Sky and Wood Ranch need dues and any community facilities district charge confirmed from the tax roll. Santa Susana Knolls brings slope and private-road access, and the wildland interface around the valley now carries insurance consequences.
